KinderArts -- a Nature based program for 4-8 year olds

Time: 10:00 - 2:00

Cost full time:  $936 - $1144 sliding scale  

Cost part time: $468 - $572 part time

$36-$44 per day

$100 deposit due upon registration.  Tuition to be paid in 9 monthly installments September - May.  Back out date December 2018.  

This once a week program for children ages 4-8 is scheduled to run Wednesdays at Community Art Garden starting September 19, 2018 and is taught by Community Art Garden owner, Emily Burkland.  The class weaves in and out-side, following a natural rhythm that will include music, art, snack and sack (packed) lunch. Outside time will include walks around town, to the library, footbridge, to the water as weather allows and working on and in our little garden space out back.  There will be plenty of free time and also of course ART with a focus on Sensory Art, Art stations, nature, social play and autonomy. 
 

Daily schedule:  (tentative)

10:00-10:20  arrival / morning stations / snack preparation
10:20   Greet the day / circle & movement activity
10:30   snack (provided) 
10:45-11:30  stations / free choice
11:30-12:00   Outside - walk / music time / field games
12:00   LUNCH (either picnic or inside)
12:20-12:40  story time / puppet play
12:45-1:45   free play with sensory options (inside or outside)
1:45 - 2:00   Farewell circle / sharing

Forest + Field Explorers (ages 4-8)

This Forest Kindergarten program takes place in the forest and fields of Chester, Vermont. This Nature based outdoor program weaves nature arts and PLAY based learning together OUTSIDE immersed in nature. We allow the children to create their own little worlds using what we gather from our surrounding forests and gardens. This program has lots of opportunities for harvesting and creating fairy houses and also real houses for them to play in! Forest and Field Explorers is in its second year and is directed by Emily Burkland and Meg Minehan.

Class size limited to 10 children.

Join local fiber artist, Amber Paris, for a Sunday afternoon series covering the basics of learning to crochet.


Basic stitches, working in the round and increasing/decreasing will all be covered.
Amber has been an avid crocheter for 20 years and sells her handmade work online and at local stores and markets.

Bookmaking for TEENS (ages 12+)

 

Join local artist, Amber Paris, at The Community Art Garden after school on Mondays from October 9th through November 13 from 3:15-4:45 for a unique bookmaking class designed especially for teens! Students age 12 and up are invited to come and learn a variety of interesting bookmaking techniques. Cost is 100.00 for the entire 6 class series and includes the cost of all provided materials. Pre-registration is required, a minimum of 5 registered students will be needed to run the class.

In this camp suited for ages 5-8, we will explore the ARTS that are possible when we embrace the natural world!  Campers will have the opportunity to create tiny nature houses as well as a fairy village, weave take home nature looms, create nature puppets and spend time outside.
